Cam Shaw-Duran, his wheelchair and the summit

PLYMOUTH - This summer, Plymouth State University student, Cameron Shaw-Doran became the first person to ascend the 7.6 mile long auto road unassisted in a wheelchair. Although Shaw-Doran did not have any special training for this event, he leads an active lifestyle and cycles regularly.

EEE: Facts and the Impact on Plymouth

PLYMOUTH - Two birds found in Plymouth have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) resulting in a shocked and panicked Plymouth community. "Two [birds with EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis)] have been found in Plymouth in the last two weeks and their location is confidential," said Deputy Chief Tom Morrison of the Plymouth Fire Department on September 26.

Female student hospitalized after possible backlash attack

On Monday, September 26, at 2:57 a.m., police received a crime against person report. A female student from the White Mountain Apartment Complex reported that another female student had been "attacked and physically assaulted" (Michelle Hutchins, Director of Public Relations) by three males.

PSU Students Displaced by Fire

PLYMOUTH - Plymouth Fire Department responded to a single alarm fire at 46 B Pleasant Street at mid-night, Friday September 23rd. Fire officials arrived at the scene to a cloud of heavy smoke coming from one apartment of the three unit building occupied by Plymouth State University students, whose names are unavailable.

PSU's own in a jam due to Hurricane Rita

PLYMOUTH - Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Retha Fielding, native of Texas, left for Houston not knowing that she'd be braving the wrath of Hurricane Rita. Fielding left Tuesday, September 20, to be at a friend's side in the hospital. She was originally coming home on Monday, September 26, and then she heard about Rita and changed her flight out to Friday, September 23.

Hazing: Guest speaker brings outside issues home

PLYMOUTH - "I know as much about brain surgery as a drunk person knows about safety." This is the message Judge Mitch Crane conveyed to PSU students on September 22. In the HUB Courtroom, Plymouth students gathered to listen to a hazing workshop. Common Man works for the Common Effort

PLYMOUTH - When hurricane Katrina hit, Common Man owner Alex Ray sprang into action and headed to the Gulf to aide in relief efforts. While his restaurants in N.H. lend a hand with the "Common Effort"-a fund to aid in Hurricane Katrina relief.
