VATICAN CITY- On March 29, 2005 Papal officials, in cooperation with Popemobile's Slap-Dash Recording Co., confirmed the April 11 concert date in celebration of the third week of Easter. It will also be, according to Popemobile head-costume designer Nigel Peterson, "a kickbutt recovery of our man Pope John Paul the second!" This will be the first time since 1994 that Popemobile has made the journey to Italy to entertain his Excellency Pope John Paul II, who is known as one of their biggest fans of this almost unprecedented group of musicians/performing artists.

In a surprising move this week, Plymouth State University's own Robby Binette was named New Hampshire's newest Poet Laureate. The crowning of Binette booted Cynthia Huntington of Hanover off the throne four years premature. Although he does not hail from Portsmouth, the eager folks of the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program (PLP) have decided to claim him as their leader as well.
